When controlling equipment from the Observant Global™ software platform's "cog" menu,
a requested action will be deferred if the site is not in communication at the moment.
Two possible causes for loss of communication are:
- The site communicates via a cellular data network and is in the process of reconnecting. (Most carriers enforce reconnection on a regular basis.)
- An equipment fault at the site is preventing communication with the site.
Any such delayed action can be deferred for up to 30 minutes. At the end of that time, if the operation could not be implemented (i.e., the site could not be contacted), it will then be designated as "failed."
