Release Notes August 2025: Automation Improvements and Other System Enhancements
We are pleased to announce a significant update to Observant Global, introducing new automation features and some additional system enhancements designed to provide customers with greater control of pump operations.
Key automation updates and New UI to manage automation
This release includes big changes to how pump automation is managed in Observant Global and introduces a new user-interface for customers to manage automation directly via the platform.
- Faster Automation Start: Automation communication has been improved to allow for faster automation start.
- Improved Automation Logic: This update includes improvement to our automation logic, ensuring the pump will run continuously from the “start” to the “stop” condition rather than stopping half way through the tank filling.
- Set Max Automation Run Time: Set up maximum run time for automation to stop a pump running indefinitely in case of a leak or other failures. If the automation hasn’t reached the “stop” condition within the allocated time frame, an alert will be sent and the automation will be disabled.
- Delay Automation Start / Stop: Add Hold-off periods for starting and stopping automation to allow for more complex use cases like priming a pump or starting multiple devices one after the other from the same condition.
- Quicker Pump Shutdown During Cellular Outage: We’ve added additional logic to allow for quicker safety shutoff in case the automation loses connectivity.
- Existing Automation Setups Remain Unchanged: Any existing automation setups will continue to run as before. Customers that are keen to utilise the new improvements can navigate to their automation settings and adjust them as needed.
New User Interface to manage automation setup:
A completely redesigned user interface is now available for creating and managing automation. This intuitive UI simplifies the programming of each system, making it easier to set up sophisticated control logic, start and stop conditions, and max run time for the automation.

Reduced Alert Latency
The latency of alerts from submersible level sensors and pressure sensors has been reduced to under a minute, improving the responsiveness of both SMS and Email alerts, as well as automation setups that rely on these sensor types.
On-Demand Device Status
It is now possible to request On-Demand device status for any device type via the monitor page.
